Winter Fashion Trends

Winter is a difficult time to look fashionable, especially if you live in a colder climate. However, it is not impossible. To start with you can buy clothing that are made from warmer materials like wool and cashmere, and that also reflect the colors and patterns from this season’s clothing trends. Generally speaking winter fashion trends will relay partially on the timeless winter classics so you won’t need to replace your entire winter wardrobe to stay in style, as long as you know what these timeless pieces are you should only have to buy a few new winter pieces each season to stay in style.

To build a winter wardrobe that follows the current winter fashion trends you will want to start with your footwear. While you may not think that winter boots offer much flexibility when it comes to fashion choices there really are a lot of great options to choose from. However, if you want a boot that will remain in style through several seasons then you can’t go wrong with a black winter boot. Then if you winter budget can stand it, buy a second and/or third pair of boots in this season’s colors and styles.

The next area of your body that you will want to protect from the coldness of winter is the lower half of your body. To stay warm look for pants that have a flattering cut for your body type and that are also made from a heavier material like wool. If you like to wear skirts in the winter then you can protect your legs by wearing colored tights.

To really pull your fashion forward winter wardrobe together you will want to look for top options that really pop. Sweaters, scarves, and fashion accessories can also easily be added to reflect winter fashion trends from this season. For the best clothing options for your body, look for tops that have a shape that de-emphasizes your problem areas and that also have a color palette that compliments your skin tone and hair color.

Fashion Trends In 1940s

World War II closed many fashion houses in Paris. Couture was among those affected by the re-education program initiated by the French government. German invaders took possession of French high fashion, and even considered the relocation of the haute couture to German cities Berlin and Vienna, both of which had little traditional history of fashion. These were some of the more significant changes in the French fashion landscape.

During those times, models in fashion shows were limited to a maximum of 75, while the time for evening wear was significantly lessened. Day wear was also made skimpier. In the 1940s, coats were limited to no more than 4 meters in length. Blouses were limited to be of at least 1 meter. But despite all these restrictions in place, the fashion industry pushed on, emphasizing humor as a way to defy the foreign powers.

While there were many fashion shops that closed down or relocation during the war, there were a few new names that opened shop. During the World War, women flaunted extravagance by wearing a hat. It was the only way they can do so without earning the ire of the authorities.

Americans took advantage of Paris’ isolation to show off their creativity. American designers introduced innovations in the way men wore work clothes. Sportswear among women also became more popular with American designers manufacturing more of these items.

In 1947, couturier Christian Dior made waves with his collection of dresses with tiny waists, and extravagant busts, a style similar to the Belle Epoque.

Choosing Clothes Racks

If you are opening or remodeling a retail clothing store you will be faced with the decision of what type of garment racks to purchase. There are fixtures made of wood, acrylic, plastic and metal, but which is right for your store? The truth is that metal garment racks have many important benefits that make them one of the best possible choices for displaying clothing and accessories in your store. metal shelves come in a variety of styles and sizes so you can tailor the look to match your décor and the clothing styles you carry.

Metal racks are a great choice because they are built to last. You don’t have to replace or refinish them every couple of years like you might with other types of racks. They are sturdy and can hold heavier items, such as winter jackets without bending or warping. You can redesign your sales floor moving your metal garment racks again and again never having to worry about them falling apart. This is a great benefit as moving things around helps keep your store current so you are always attracting new business.

Another great benefit of metal garment rack is that they are quite versatile. Their styles include rectangular, rounders, half-rounds and various tubular racks such as squared or spiral. With the variety of options available it is easy to match the various styles of clothing you carry with the right metal garment rack to maximize each items exposure and catch the eye of your customers. Often newer items are placed on tubular racks with the front item being accessorized as a display and sale items are placed on rounders where customers can sort through them looking for the best deals.

There are many reasons that clothes racks are the best choice when it comes to merchandizing clothing and other items in stores and boutiques. Durability and versatility top the list, but there are many other reasons as well such as being maintenance-free and easy to clean. Other racks including acrylic brochure holders are much more high maintenance and require frequent dusting because they attract dust like a magnet, but metal racks rarely need to be cleaned because they do not attract dust. An occasional wiping with a damp cloth is all the care these racks ever need. So, if you are looking for garment racks that are long-lasting, versatile and maintenance-free, you should definitely consider purchasing metal garment racks for your store.

Shoes vs. Bags – Can you love both?

I’ve never been much of a bag girl before, to be honest I’ve always been more of a shoe fan but as it turns out a girl really does need more than one bag, as I recently discovered after a flurry of wedding invites.
I used to have just one black clutch bag that served me well on many occasions but when you’re wearing a pastel dress accessorising with black shoes and bag (and jewellery?) just isn’t going to cut it.
Luckily, I have a bag-a-holic for a friend so we went shopping one sunny Saturday afternoon in search of the perfect bag to go with my pastel pink dress. In fact, I ended up coming back with five!

Bag shopping is a little like shoe shopping, it can be strangely addictive, and I now have a range of funky and classic bags so no matter where I’m going – whether it’s a dinner date or a wedding, I now have something for all occasions.
For my wedding outfit I bought a gorgeous pale pink clutch with silver clasp from very.co.uk which rather handily has a strap I can fix around my wrist so I don’t end up leaving it at the bar.
As I’ve said I got a little over enthusiastic when I was shopping and I ended up coming back with four bags, aside from the pale pink clutch.

I also now own a silver clutch (because silver is the new black and it will go with most outfits), a black snakeskin style patent clutch (to add a funky twist), a tiny coral across-the-body style bag with a bow clasp, which is very pretty and will fit in nicely with my assortment of floral tops and dresses for this summer. Last but not least I found a gorgeous brown leather tote bag for work – which is perfect for the office and everyday wear. Because it’s a little bigger I can fit in all of my everyday stuff too, I love spacious handbags that you can throw everything into and go.
So is bag shopping as good as shoe shopping? Well, not quite, but at least I can be sure of one thing – at least I’ll already own a pair of shoes to match.
